India's legendary batsman Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from Test cricket with immediate effect. The former Indian captain has scored 9230 runs in 123 Test matches at an average of 46.85, including 30 centuries.
In a post on his Instagram on Monday, May 12, Virat Kohli wrote, "It's been 14 years since I wore the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I never imagined what a journey this format would take me on. It has tested me, shaped me and taught me lessons that I will carry with me for a lifetime.
"I will always look back at my Test career with a smile. #269, I bid adieu."
