The after the ongoing ICC Men's ODI World Cup in India, the top seven teams will be able to make it to the eight-team ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan. Pakistan has already qualified as host.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 qualification system was approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2021, When it was decided to re-constitute the tournament to eight teams in the 2024–31 cycle.
This change has shocked many cricket boards, including both the teams playing and not playing in the World Cup. Whose qualification for the 2025 Champions Trophy is at stake in this tournament.
This means that teams like West Indies, Zimbabwe and Ireland will no longer get a chance to qualify for this tournament, as all these countries could not make it to the 2023 ODI World Cup.
