Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has suddenly retired from ODI cricket and due to this he has now ruled himself out of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Marcus Stoinis will now focus only on T20 cricket and he will still play for Australia in the T20I format. He has scored 1495 runs in 71 ODIs at an average of 26.69 as well as taken 48 wickets. He has one century and six half-centuries in ODIs.
Announcing his retirement, Stoinis said, "My journey of playing ODIs for Australia has been great and I am grateful for every moment spent in the green and gold jersey.
It was not easy for me to take this decision, but I think it is the right time to step away from the ODI format. I will now be able to focus on the next chapter of my career.
