Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988, in Delhi, India. He started his cricket career at a young age, playing for the Delhi Under-15 team in 2002-2003.

Kohli made his international debut for India in August 2008, in an ODI against Sri Lanka. He play his first Test match against the West Indies in June 2011.

Kohli's became the first Indian to score a century on his debut as Test captain.

Virat Kohli was born to Prem Kohli, a criminal lawyer, and Saroj Kohli, a homemaker. He has an older brother, Vikas, and an older sister, Bhavna.
