After India's refusal, now Sri Lanka or UAE can get the hosting of Women's T20 World Cup 2024.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rejected the International Cricket Council's (ICC) offer to host the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. The ICC will now take a final decision on the hosting on August 20.

BCCI Rejects offer to host Women's T20 World Cup 2024

The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to begin from October 3 to October 20, 2024, with the ICC now left with Sri Lanka and UAE as options after India withdrew from hosting the event.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a conversation with the Times of India, "They (ICC) had proposed to us to host the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup.

But I clearly refused, this is the rainy season here and more importantly, we have to host the Women's ODI World Cup in 2025. I do not want to give the wrong message to anyone that we want to host two consecutive World Cups."

Bangladesh is currently facing violence and security challenges due to anti-government movements, and this is why the ICC is considering giving the host country somewhere else instead of Bangladesh. Many people have died in Bangladesh and their Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been deposed.
