Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan has been sentenced to 14 years in jail in the Toshakhana case of gift-buying and tax theft while he was the Prime Minister. In this case, his wife Bushra Bibi has also been sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment. Imran has also been fined US$2.9 million.

On Tuesday, Imran was also sentenced to 10 years in prison in another case. He is already sentenced for three years in another case and is in jail. Both these cases are also related to corruption and tax evasion.

His new 14-year sentence will run concurrently with his old 10-year sentence. Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has described this decision as 'throwing in the garbage heap'.

Imran's legal troubles began in April 2022, when more than 100 cases were filed against him and he was removed from the post of Prime Minister. However, this is the first time that along with Imran, his wife has also been sentenced.
